The Meetings Show continues to be the largest meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions tradeshow in the UK.
The partners in attendance were:
Rory discussed the importance of working with local communities and the power that corporate social responsibility (CSR) led incentives can have.
On the first day, Rory Archibald, Senior Business Events Manager at VisitScotland Business Events took to the Innovate & Inspire Stage to discuss how business events can be used to impact local communities.
Playing a video from social enterprise Invisible Cities, Rory explained: "Through making the decision to book a tour with Invisible Cities, you are having a direct and positive impact on the local community with the funds being used to get more people off the street and getting them the help they need".
Rory reminded the audience that it is important that when choosing a destination or activity for your event it is important to align it to your organisation's values.
"No, is not a dirty word. We need to be saying this more when we don't agree with something and go back to the drawing board to find something that does."
The Meetings Show is always a highlight for us. It's an excellent opportunity to generate strong leads through on-stand meetings, renew industry friendships, and make valuable new contacts.
Scotland Reception
To end the first day of The Meetings Show, a reception was held on the VisitScotland stand for buyers, attendees and partners to enjoy after a busy day of meetings, networking and education. The reception was well attended and allowed for conversations to continue with our team and partners, as well as allowing for new connections to be made in a more relaxed setting.
Discussing the show, Emma Richards, Business Development Manager, said: "The Meetings Show is always a highlight for us. It's an excellent opportunity to generate strong leads through on-stand meetings, renew industry friendships, and make valuable new contacts.
"It is also a great platform for us to be able to share our knowledge and inspire attendees with the great work being done in Scotland through our conversations, sessions and presentations."
VisitScotland will next be exhibiting at IMEX America in Las Vegas in October (08 - 10 October).
